Study released yesterday by Forrester Research,a company specializing in the development of research focused on the Internet, e-commerce inBrazil should earn about $ 22 billion in 2016, up178% compared to 7.9 billion dollars moved in 2010.

The study titled "Forrester's Latin American OnlineRetail Forecast, "predicts that the Brazilian e-commerce to obtain an average annual growth ratearound 18% over the next five years. Electronic products have yet to boost e-commerce in theshort term, the report said.

However, Forrester warns that high taxes chargedin the country affect its competitiveness and expansion, citing the example of a Dell laptop that costs $ 1,400 in Brazil, while the same modelcosts $ 800 in Mexico and only 500 in the United States.

The study also estimates that Mexico (the secondlargest digital economy in Latin America) to obtaina turnover of 3.4 billion dollars in 2016, up 209% from the year 2010, as that market turnover ofapproximately 1.1 billion dollars.
